JESSE

Jesse began his own journey working with children with disabilities in 2019 while studying psychology at university. He started as a Behavioural Therapist at a multidisciplinary paediatric clinic, where he quickly discovered his passion for supporting children with neurodevelopmental differences.

Recognised for his ability to build strong, natural connections with children, Jesse was promoted to Program Coordinator, overseeing a team of more than 25 behavioural therapists and acting as the main point of contact for 30 families. In this leadership role, he was responsible for recruitment, therapist training, supervision, and ongoing client support—developing valuable clinical and operational skills across the disability and paediatric sectors.

During his time at the clinic, Jesse also gained training and experience in:

  • MaCNI (Multiple and Complex Needs Intervention) therapy

  • Occupational Therapy assistance, Speech Therapy assistance, and Dietetics assistance

  • Visual communication supports, including PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), visual schedules, social stories, and a range of tailored tools for neurodivergent children

Jesse also brings valuable knowledge of the NDIS and broader disability sector from his time as a Specialist Support Coordinator—experience that now helps families better navigate services and funding. Alongside his professional experience, Jesse brings personal insight from supporting family members on the autism spectrum, which has shaped his compassionate, neuro-affirming approach to working with both children and their families.

In May 2022, Jesse returned to his passion for working directly with children, launching Journeys with Jesse—a service grounded in play, creativity, and inclusive, strengths-based support.

Jesse completed his Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) in June 2024 and is on track to begin his Master of Professional Psychology in 2025—his next step toward becoming a fully registered psychologist. Jesse has now also completed ‘DIR 101: An Introduction to DIR® and DIRFloortime® (Floortime)’, which you can find further information on here.
